Days 1-2: London to Innsbruck
We depart St Pancras International on a morning Eurostar service for Brussels, then continue onwards to Cologne. Here we change onto a regional train to Remagen for our overnight stop. On Day 2 we travel south through the spectacular Rhine Valley into Bavaria and over the border to Innsbruck to check into the 4* Hotel Alpinpark for five nights. (Day 1-D: Day 2-B,D)
Days 3-4: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Christmas Eve is free to explore Innsbruck. At this time of year the streets are filled with carol-singers and Christmas stalls selling gifts.We enjoy a special Christmas Eve dinner tonight. On Christmas Day, we join the Stubaitalbahn, a local tram that carries us through beautiful scenery to the small mountain town of Fulpmes. (Day 3-B,D: Day 4-B,D)
Day 5: Boxing Day in Innsbruck
As there is so much to see and do around Innsbruck, Boxing Day is at leisure to enjoy the attractions. Why not join our optional excursion on the Zillertalbahn, a narrow-gauge railway running along the Inn Valley? (B)
Day 6: Excursion to Seefeld
Our included excursion today is to Seefeld, an attractive town perched 3,937 feet (1,200m) above sea level. The pedestrianised centre is a delight to stroll around, and there are plenty of walking trails leading into the surrounding countryside. (B)
Day 7:To Lake Garda
Today we head south through the mighty peaks of the Dolomites into Italy and on to Verona, from where we are transferred to the 3* Hotel Sole in Garda for a five night stay. (B,D)
Days 8-9:At leisure in Garda
On Day 8 we embark on a half-day excursion by coach to explore the area, stopping off in a few lakeside towns. On Day 9, why not join our optional excursion to Verona, for a guided tour of the beautiful city made famous in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet? (Day 8-B,D: Day 9-B,D)
Days 10-11:New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
On New Year's Eve you are free to explore the town at your own pace.Wander along the picturesque lakefront promenade or the more adventurous can travel into the hills. This evening we enjoy a gala dinner with live music and dancing to welcome in the New Year. On New Year’s Day you can have a leisurely start to the day with a late brunch and maybe take a stroll through Garda’s Old Town before our farewell dinner. (Day 10-B,D: Day 11-B,D)
Days 12-13:To London
We bid farewell to Garda as we travel back over the border, through Austria and into Germany for our overnight stop in Nuremburg. The next morning we continue on to Brussels, where we join our Eurostar to St Pancras International. (Day 12-B: Day 13-B)
