Day 1: London to Brig
We leave St Pancras International on an early morning Eurostar departure for Paris then travel on, via Basel, to Brig for a five night stay in the 3* Hotel Ambassador.
Day 2: Christmas Eve in Montreux
On Christmas Eve we travel by rail to elegant Montreux, known as the Pearl of the Swiss Riviera, for today’s excursion. The Christmas Market in Montreux is set along the shoreline of Lake Geneva, with inviting stalls filled with local crafts and tasty treats including vin chaud (hot wine). After visiting the market you might choose to stroll through Montreux and enjoy the fresh lakeside air in this delightful setting. This evening we enjoy a typically Swiss Christmas Eve feast. (B,D)
Day 3: Christmas Day in Brig
Christmas Day is at leisure.Your Swiss Saver Pass offers you reductions on all rail, bus and boat travel within Switzerland, so why not use this chance to explore a little further afield? Interlaken, nestled between scenic Lakes Thun and Brienz, is just a short ride away, or you might choose to visit one of the many pretty mountain towns and villages located close by.Your Tour Manager is on hand to advise you on your options today.Wherever you travel, make sure you’re back in time for our special five-course Christmas dinner in the hotel this evening. Day 4: Glacier Express & Centovalli Railway
On Boxing Day we depart this morning by rail aboard the famous Glacier Express to Andermatt, traversing richly varied landscapes, from snow capped mountains and rushing mountain streams,to peaceful meadows and dramatic passes. Our included excursion continues as we travel south to Locarno to join the Centovalli Railway to Domodossola. One of the most scenic rail journeys in the southern Alps, the Hundred Valleys Line passes through picture-postcard scenery before arriving in Italy.We travel north from Domodossola and return to Brig. Day 5: Zermatt
Our excursion today is to Zermatt, a charmingly traditional Swiss mountain village. The famous Matterhorn dominates the skyline here and your Swiss Saver Pass offers you free entry to the Matterhorn Museum, giving a fascinating insight into the history of mountain life. Alternatively, you might choose to take the cog-wheel mountain railway to the summit of the Gornergrat (supplement payable) for breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. (B)
Day 6: Brig to London
We travel by train from Brig via Basel to Paris before continuing onward by Eurostar to St Pancras International. (B)

The hotel boasts a traditional Swiss restaurant, cosy brasserie and delightful garden terrace.
