Albi
We travel by train to delightful Albi. Set on the River Tarn, the town is steeped in the history of the religious wars between the Catholics and Cathars. The 13th century Ste Cécile Cathedral is one of the most remarkable Gothic cathedrals in Europe. Albi is also famous as Toulouse Lautrec’s birthplace and the Toulouse Lautrec Museum, housed in the beautifully preserved former bishop’s palace, contains a vast collection of his work.
