INCLUDED EXCURSIONS

Albi

We travel by train to delightful Albi. Set on the River Tarn, the town is steeped in the history of the religious wars between the Catholics and Cathars. The 13th century Ste Cécile Cathedral is one of the most remarkable Gothic cathedrals in Europe. Albi is also famous as Toulouse Lautrec’s birthplace and the Toulouse Lautrec Museum, housed in the beautifully preserved former bishop’s palace, contains a vast collection of his work.

Walking tour of Bayonne

A guided walking tour of Bayonne provides a fascinating insight into the rich heritage of the Basque Country. We explore the delightful narrow streets of Petit Bayonne together and see the Gothic cathedral which towers over the streets of the old town.

Biarritz

We travel by coach to fashionable Biarritz, situated a few miles away on the Atlantic coast. Biarritz became a popular resort in Victorian times and its ocean vistas and sweeping promenade have been attracting visitors ever since.
